Records Bureau FAQ'S

The Records Bureau is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am until 4:30pm. We are closed on most holidays. You can reach Records by calling the general number 732-823-3970 or email at pdrec@sbpdnj.net. You can also call 732-329-4000 x7482.

We are located on the first floor of the Police wing on the Municipal Building. The Municipal Building is on the corner of Kingston Lane and Rt. 522. The address is 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852.

All reports taken by a police officer or submitted by the public, including motor vehicle crash reports.

To obtain a copy of a releasable police report, you may either request a copy by email, with proper ID, at pdrec@sbpdnj.net or come to Police Headquarters during regular business hours, 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM For any questions, please call (732)823-3970.

There are 3 ways to obtain a Motor Vehicle Crash report.

 

  1. Visit https://buycrash.lexisnexisrisk.com/

            There will be an $8 fee.

             Please enter State, Jurisdiction and only ONE of the following:

  • Report Number as follows I-2022-xxxxxx
  • Last Name and Date of Accident
  • Last Name and Location of Accident
  1. Arrive in person to the South Brunswick Police Records Window at 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction

There will be a 5 cents per page fee.

 

  1. Make a request to us by mailing a $5 check made out to South Brunswick Township Please provide us with the case number, your name, address and phone number, mail to:

An act concerning public access to government records, amending and supplementing C47:1A-1, amending P.L. 1995 and P.L. 1998 establishing a privacy study commission and making an appropriation for the expense thereof, and repealing parts of the statutory law. You can obtain a records check by bringing photo identification to the Records Bureau Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. You must complete a Criminal History Request Form if you need a letter of good conduct or a criminal history check.

 

The letter is usually done while you wait. There is a $10 fee for this service. Please note that we do not accept electronic payment methods.

You can pick up a form at the Records Bureau or print a fillable form under forms. Your doctor will have to complete his/her section and you can bring the completed form with a check for $4 written out to “N.J. MVC” to us during normal business hours (8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.) and a placard will be issued while you wait.

Permanent handicap parking applications can also be obtained from the Records Bureau, but you must complete the form and mail or bring it to N.J. Division of Motor Vehicle. We do not issue permanent placards.

A written request must be mailed to South Brunswick Police, 540 Ridge Rd., Mon. Jct., NJ 08852, Att: Records Bureau. You can also fax a request to 732-274-2342 or email to pdrec@sbpdnj.net. Any questions about discovery call 732-329-4000 x7482.

The court handles all traffic summons, so you will need to contact the South Brunswick Municipal Court. We do not have information pertaining to traffic summonses or tickets. Their main number is 732-823-3963.
All warrant information is obtained through either the South Brunswick Municipal Court, during normal business hours (8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.), or the South Brunswick Police Department Station Officer, 732-329-4646.

The South Brunswick Police Department will fingerprint only those residents who possess hardcopy fingerprint cards.

– Adoption

 

The above individuals can come to the police department Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm to be fingerprinted. There is a $10 fee for this service.

 

The South Brunswick Police Department cannot fingerprint for the following purposes:

 

– Immigration

– Visa

– Good conduct

– Expungement

– New Jersey employment

– Foreign business

– Non-Criminal Justice NJ Licensing/Employment

– Non-Criminal Justice NJ Volunteer Backgrounds unless SB resident

– NJ Volunteer Care Providers

– NJ Volunteer Review Operations

– Firearms Purchaser ID Card/Permit to Purchase
