Found money is placed in a township trust fund. It can be claimed after six months. It will take approximately three months for the paperwork to go through. A check will be mailed to you.
The arresting officer makes the decision if an application for forfeiture will take place. If he decides to place the application for forfeiture the vehicle will be held in our impound lot on site. If he decides not to apply for the application of forfeiture, it will be towed to a local garage and you then can pick it up at that garage.

The township usually holds an auction in the fall and or the spring. The Public Works Department and/or the South Brunswick Police Department will place an ad in the newspaper several weeks prior to the auction.
