Detective Bureau

The Detective Bureau conducts follow-up investigations of all criminal matters. Detectives assigned to this bureau also initiate criminal investigations through the use of informants and other investigative tools. They review all police reported incidents and correlate information as it may pertain to open investigations. They work closely with neighboring police agencies as well as county, state and federal law enforcement.
The Detective Bureau is charged with these additional responsibilities:

  • Obtain and execute search/arrest warrants
  • Conduct surveillances of suspicious persons and activities
  • Crime scene processing
  • Interview/interrogate victims, witnesses, suspects and actors in crimes
  • Provide case preparation and testimony for prosecution
  • Gather and provide law enforcement intelligence services
  • Identify, collect, and analyze physical evidence and property
  • Conduct pre-employment background investigations, firearm application investigations, and liquor license investigations.
