PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE OF BOND ORDINANCE FINAL ADOPTION/STATEMENT

AND SUMMARY           

 

      The Bond Ordinance, the summary terms of which are included herein, has been finally adopted after a Public Hearing thereon at a meeting of the Township Council of the Township of South Brunswick, New Jersey held on September 16, 2026, and the twenty (20) day period of limitation within which a suit, action or proceeding questioning the validity of such ordinance can be commenced, as provided in the Local Bond Law, has begun to run from the date of the first publication of this statement by posting on the Township’s website.  Copies of the full Bond Ordinance are available at no cost and during regular business hours at the Office of the Township Clerk in the Township Municipal Building, 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, New Jersey for members of the general public who request the same. The summary of the terms of such Bond Ordinance follows:

 

Title:        BOND ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR UTILITY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS FOR AND BY THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH BRUNSWICK, IN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY, APPROPRIATING $13,008,000 THEREFORE AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $13,008,000 IN BONDS OR NOTES OF THE TOWNSHIP FOR FINANCING THE COST THEREOF

 

Purpose:  The improvements authorized and the purpose for the financing of which the bonds are to be issued are the utility capital improvements required with respect to the: a) Edmunds System Transition for the Finance Department; b) Fuel Management System and Stationary Vehicle Lifts/Shop Equipment for the Department of Public Works; c) Sewer Utilities – Pump Station #10 emergency generator replacement, Pump Station #13 wet well upgrade, repair and replacement of sewer lines, I&I reduction, manhole repair/ replacement, emergency sewer line repairs, acquisition of pump station equipment, Route 1 Sewer Replacement Project, Matrix I&I remediation and Henderson Road Culvert Replacement Phase 1; d) Water Utilities – Replacement Unit #133 – F250 Utility Body Pickup Truck (partial funding), Replacement Unit #150 – Utility Boom Truck, water meters and meter reading equipment,  Route 1 & Dow Jones water main replacement, Middlesex County Route 535 improvements, engineering funding for PFAS Treatment, Deans Lane water line replacement (partial funding), water facilities equipment replacement/rehabilitation work and water distribution system emergency repairs and parts; e) Upgrades to Municipal Building network switches, desktop computer replacement, laptop computer replacement, backup file server replacements, file server S-Drive replacements for Township and Police Department, network firewall upgrades to replace obsolete technology, camera enhancements for Municipal Building, additions to the door entry system, replace ID card printer and other printer replacements; and f) Roadway improvements to Beck Court, Rolling Court and Holder Road, together with all work and materials necessary therefor and incidental thereto.

    Section 20 Costs:                   $1,300,800

    Useful Life:                              27.58 years
