PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE OF INTRODUCED/PENDING ORDINANCE AND SUMMARY

                        The Ordinance, the summary terms of which are included herein, was introduced and approved upon first reading at a meeting of the Township Council of the Township of South Brunswick, New Jersey held on September 2, 2026.  It will be further considered for final passage after public hearing thereon at a meeting of said Township Council to be held on September 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Township Municipal Building, 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. A copy of such Ordinance has been posted on the Township’s website and in the Township Municipal Building during the week prior to and up to and including the date of said meeting. Copies of such Ordinance will be made available at the Office of the Township Clerk in the Township Municipal Building to members of the general public who shall request the same. The summary of the terms of such Ordinance follows:

Title:     ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH BRUNSWICK, IN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, STATE OF NEW JERSEY AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:4-53 TO FUND CONTRACTUALLY REQUIRED SEVERANCE LIABILITIES

Purpose:           To fund the cost of accumulated severance liabilities resulting from the retirements and layoffs in fiscal year 2026.

            Appropriation:                            $1,000,000

            Bonds/Notes Authorized:           $1,000,000
